Super Bowl Monday!!!

Yep, you read that right, Super Bowl Monday! Here, at the McKay Marriott house, we have a tradition of recording the game and watching it very early on Monday morning. Luckily today, it wasn't until 4:00 AM! McKay had set his alarm for 3:30 but then didn't manage to actually get up until thirty minutes later! When he finally woke up, he shook me softly and asked if I wanted to join him. I got up with him and we snuggled on the couch with our favorite blanket and ate homemade banana muffins. Unfortunately the outcome wasn't what we had hoped for but it was a GREAT game! Thanks to TIVO, we can watch a four hour game in about an hour and a half!! We watched every play but were able to fast forward all the "other" stuff! McKay left for work and I was able to fall back asleep for about 45 minutes before the kids got up! It was a great way to start the day!

If I have time later today, I might just go watch the commercials! Which one was your favorite!?

You guys are such good examples of keeping the Sabbath day holy!! :) I don't care for NFL but Spencer also Tivo'd it to watch later.

That is true dedication! I can't believe it. I can't think of a single thing worth getting up at 4am for... OK, maybe a few minutes to cuddle with my hubby, but definitely not a game! :) The commercials were disappointing. We did like the Alec Baldwin one, which I wish I could remember the company (I know, those ad people hate that they didn't get that across)... I actually preferred the game over the commercials this year... such a great game!

The Denny's commercial was one of the only ones I laughed at, although I didn't watch most of them. The Alec Baldwin one was funny too. We had the kids in the room and I'm paranoid about what they show during games that are definitely NOT geared to a rated G audience, so we did a lot of forwarding, etc. :)
We were rooting for the Cards, and they came so close!

JanaBanana! That is exactly what we did growing up, starting the year the Chicago Bears were in it and we lived in Naperville! I hated getting up because I didn't care about the game, but I have memories of it! That is great that you supported your hubby and watched it with him! WAY TO GO!

You're so cute to keep a tradition like that up! I would never make it...so not a morning person:). My family loved the one where the guy threw the snow globe into the vending machine. My husband was crying he laughed so hard. btw I love the way your blog looks!

That is hillarious! You are good people for waiting until the next day to watch it. We watched it on projection...we had it on a 120 inch screen. So much work for it to end so sadly...but it was a pretty cool game to watch. BTW...how did your gardening go?
